Hi, I’m Sibongile.

I’ve spent the last 18+ years working across the full spectrum of marketing and communications: developing campaigns and strategies; managing projects; publicity; creative agencies and various other suppliers; writing; editing; leading teams; and did I mention writing and editing? I have been storytelling my way through sectors as varied as retail, manufacturing, food franchising and engineering.

Over the years, I’ve learnt that people tune in when the message is compelling and relatable (read: sounds human!). The storytelling approach can be applied whether you're selling a service, launching a new product, or presenting financial results to a team spread across continents. People connect with people. A good narrative woven into your message or brand is much more appealing than hard, cold facts and figures.

I help brands and individuals find their voice, develop a compelling narrative and ultimately communicate with impact.

A Love of Language

I’m wildly passionate about language and always have been. Words excite me, and a well-told story moves me. A clever turn of phrase in a TV drama? I’m tuning in! I will rewrite a headline in my head for the fun of it.

That love of language led me to creating Storyteller Boutique, a space where strategic thinking meets creative storytelling and where clarity and connection matter more than the jargon and noise we see in traditional marketing.

I expanded this love of language to include business English training after relocating to Barcelona, Spain, where I found there to be a need for native English teachers with deep corporate experience – and a flair for brand storytelling! Marketing copy, editing and proofreading, business English coaching…it’s all communication, and I believe it all deserves to be compelling.
